CONNIE FRANCIS SINGS COLE PORTER MEDLEY-'LIVE'! (1965)

Connie Francis presents an exceptional and artful medley of some of American songwriter and lyricist Cole Porter's most famous songs. (This clip and many others from a famous TV show were shared with me by a very good You Tube friend and devoted Connie Francis fan.) The performance is from 1965 - one year after Porter's death - when his music was enjoying a revival on Broadway. I believe this is one of Connie's finest live performances and that it demonstrates how she had matured from a teen idol to a sophisticated adult singer with an international following. (I originally uploaded this clip in early 2010, but accidentally deleted it in December. So I've re-uploaded it. I worked with new computer software to improve the picture and the sound - but this clip is a "copy of a copy" and I wasn't able to truly perfect it - but I tried! Thanks for watching!)

Words cannot describe how marvelous Connie is. This medley in my opinion is even better then the Gershwin Medley. The Ballgmae Medley and After I'm Gone Medlies present her voice as one with the orchestra.

@wrdane I really love this one - probably because I am a huge fan of Cole Porter's work! Connie's medleys were brilliant. She was so talented at re-writing lyrics and creating wonderful intros and conclusions to her medleys. She can sing a story like nobody else!

Connie simply has never received the "full measure of respect" she truly deserves, and I cannot understand why.

Perhaps she has been "too nice"?

Sadly, some people prefer to reward "aloofness".
