Chapter 29 - My Beautiful Rescue - A Jonas Brothers Story

Only one more chapter left after this :\ I know, it's sad, and I know many of you don't want me to end this, but it has to end somewhere... on the bright side, I'm definitely going to keep writing after this story ends, and you all will be the first to know when I have a brand new story up :] I hope you like this chapter! thanks so much for all the feedback I've gotten!

(Brooke's Point Of View)

You know that feeling when you are both excited and nervous at the same time? When your body feels like jello but your head is anxious and ready for what's about to happen? When you are so in awe of what is going on around you that you just want to stand in the middle of the street and tell the whole world that you love Kevin Jonas? Yeah, well that's how I felt as he led me out of his car and into Starbucks that Saturday afternoon as promised.

Kevin held the door open for me and urged me to enter, the aroma of coffee filling my nose. Taking out his wallet and asking me what I wanted, he approached the counter and ordered and paid for the two of us. We sat down at a small, round table in the back that was located away from others.

"So, how are you?" Kevin asked as he stirred a packet of sugar into his coffee and took a sip, testing to see if he liked it.

"I'm good," I responded, nodding my head and forcing a smile.

Kevin looked up with his eyebrows raised. "Just good?"

"You know... hangin' in there."

He took another sip. "How is she?"

"My grandma?" I sighed. "She's okay. The surgery was only somewhat successful so they are probably going to have to perform another one sometime soon."

"I'm sorry," Kevin replied sincerely. "I'm sure she'll make it through. Especially if she's anything as tough as you are." He smiled.

I giggled, but my grin soon faded to a frown. "I'm just scared I'm going to lose her," I said, my voice cracking.

Kevin scooted his chair over closer to me and gently rubbed his hand on my back. "Let it out," he whispered.

I exhaled. "She is like one of my best friends, you know? She helps me with everything and spoils me, and always pushes me to do better. She always has the right things to say and... I just can't imagine how things would be without her..."

Kevin was silent and I glanced up at him to see his sparkling eyes looking straight at me. "Come here," he said, reaching his arms out to hug me.

"Thanks, Kevin," I told him as I pulled away and brushed my hair out of my face. "Thanks for being here today."

"Oh, it's no problem," he answered, smiling. "I know things right now may seem a little scary, but you can't worry about it too much. The more you worry, the bigger the problem will become. You just have to believe, and pray. Anything can happen, and miracles are always possible." He paused. "I mean, look where a little belief and prayer got my brothers and I! We never thought ANY of this could happen. But it did, and now we're living our dreams."

I gazed at him in admiration. "Wow, Kevin. Really, I couldn't thank you enough. Thank you so much, for everything."

"You're welcome. You know if you ever need someone to talk to, you can just text me or call me," Kevin said sweetly. "We're busy a lot, but whenever we get downtime I'm always checking my phone."

"Will do," I responded with a smile. "I never knew you were such a good advice giver!"

Kevin chuckled, clapping his hands together and leaning back in his chair. "Am I? I don't know... I guess so!"

"Yeah, you are," I said, taking the final sip of my coffee. "You should have your own advice column."

"You think so?" he laughed. "We'll see. Maybe sometime in the near future, it could happen!"

After chatting for a little while more, it was time get out of there. Kevin had rock star activities to attend, and I had to go home, think about what just happened, and notify Kayla and Lindsey ASAP.

"Thanks again, Kevin," I told him happily, as I got out of his car after arriving at my house. "You're a lifesaver." He winked, and drove off.
