On May 21st 2009, Major General W Cubitt CBE commanding the Household Division carried out his annual inspection of The Household Cavalry Mounted Regiment in Hyde Park, London.

  • So has the Major General lost his cocked hat with feathers or is that another defence cut ?

  • The Major General is responsible for the ceremonial season in London and Windsor. For that reason he will conduct inspections of the Battalions and Companies and also King's Troop and Household Cavalry in order to state that they are 'Fully Fit for Ceremonial'.

  • I don't think so, I think it's an entirely separate occasion.

  • Is this the Household Cavalry's way of preparing for Trooping the Colour?
