On July 4, 2010, I visited the Illinois Railway Museum. While spending the day there, I took a ride on the CB&Q "Nebraska Zephyr." On a couple instances we made it up to 45 mph. Enjoy!
That seemed like a interesting cab ride, but what was odd, was the clear signals and switches that were wrong, like at the :48 second mark (1st switch on the ride), then there was another bad switch at the 2:09 mark. Was the signals there for show?
Great video!!! This train could really highball it out on the mainline back in the day!!! 70 to 90, Even 100 mph in some instances!! 45 mph seems like a crawling speed for this train!!!
How did you manage to get a ride in the power itself??

The engineer invited me and a friend in out of the rain, then just said we could stay in for the ride.
