Regardless, the band reflects a positive image on the Corps. In desert Storm, the band that passed through with us was a heavy machine gun platoon as well.
Anyway, after spending the fourth in Savannah, the had Army NG bands there. They played in camo t-shirts and shorts. They sounded good, but remember seeing Marine bands playing, all in Charlies when out in the public. A Sgt. Major would have had a cow.

@panzerhund0311 You don't deserve the title of United States Marine if you think it is ever ok to insult fellow Marines like you have. Every program in the United States Marine Corp is crucial to the overall success of the corp. I am not a Marine yet, but I know that when I do become a Marine I'm not going to disrespect a fellow Marine and try to say that he or she is not a "REAL MARINE". In spite of everything you have said I would still like to thank you and all military for your service.

With all of that, you're still a pouge. The stupid dumb 0311 infantrymen in the Marines have been the back bone of the Marines since 10 November 1775 ! So what if you can shoot, PFT , blow the ass tuba, out rank or whatever....Or been to all them non hostile trips blowing your flute or marching.. At lest at the end of the day, since I'm an stupid infantry 0311 I know what me and my friends have done. Served ,fought, and died and have not been going on fancy liberty spots blowing things!

@timerecstudio Yeah, right....cause 9811 is a real combat MOS! What ever pouge. Go play your skinflute and your ass tuba. Leave the combat to the INFANTRY! I'm glad I joined the Marines to be a REAL MARINE, Infantry Marines are the only real Marines...the rest of the Marine Corps is just support. Thanks for playing the bull crap change of command ceremonies and boot camp graduations...someone needs to do it..

@timerecstudio.... Seriously? How so that the band aren't pouges? Last time I checked, I never seen a band member humping a rifle in Afghanistan or in Iraq! Not all Marines are seeing combat...Many may go over seas, but some may NEVER leave a FOB or airbase! Let me know of any Marine Band members who have been killed in combat!? Its the Infantry and all the other combat MOS Marines who are fighting wars and winning battles!

Regardless of what I do ( I'm part of The Commandants Own at 8th and I barracks where i see the dumbest and laziest 0311's patroling the barracks.), I prob out shoot and rank u. I have a 6th award expert rifle and 2nd award pistol, 1 class pft and cft sinces bootcamp, NAM, meritorious service commendation medal, and Picked up SSgt at 5 and a half years. I've also played and traveled to Guam, tonga, Samoa, Thailand, Japan, Australia, Mongolia and Cambodia. What have u done?

@panzerhund0311 Ur a idiot. I know plenty of Band Members who have 1. gone to Iraq and Afghanistan and been shot and almost blowed up and 2. i know a few who have gotten blowed up or nearly killed. Many who have received Purple Hearts and saved many lives in the process.

I cannot believe this band needs to read music for the Thunderer ! Being a full time military band , they should have all marching tunes committed to memory !
