My Father's Ashes

I made this short movie from footage that I took when I was in Brasil in April, 2009 after my father's death. The footage from the apartment scene shows pretty much what his place looked like when he died...the beverages in his fridge, things on his desk, the colognes on the bathroom shelf. The footage on the beach was taken at Ipanema Beach in Rio. It was his wish that his ashes be scattered there, in front of the ocean front apartment that his father bought and where his step mother still resides. It was a beautiful night. A beautiful, haunting night as our father's remains were slowly lapped up by the ocean's arms.
