  • Poison Ivy grows in my yard but fortunately, I've never reacted to poison oar or poison Ivy; yet. It is said that repeated exposure can cause an immune reaction, I know that

I've been exposed to it quite alot, but so far, I've never had a reaction to it.

When the fireflies come out this year, I'll try for better pictures and video.

  • Wish it'd been darker, then easier to see

    them.

BTW, in Brazil a "railway" beetle glows

both green AND red...Haven't seen those

    yet...

  • @RonaldVaughan Okay I finally made another video - this time I had a Fuji S700

It starts out in the daytime but I went back out last night and got some video of

some crawling around and flashing in the dark !

  • Good! Nice it would also if you film them at night.

  • Yes, it would be fun to try but I'm relying on

ambient light to provide exposure information to

the automatic camera. Any suggestions on how to

make movies in a manual mode on a Fuji S 700 camera ?

  • The firefly seems to fly upwards while it is emitting

the yellow-green light. I wonder if this means anything. I was sort of chasing it around with my camera trying to make a macro movie.....

  • did you just walk into poison ivy for this video?

  • that firefly is very big! japanese-firefly is more small.

  • Go to Firefly FAQ (Google It). This site will answer most your questions about fireflies. Enjoy :-)

  • i have never ever seen a firefly...i've always wanted to see one...i live in southern california...i've always wanted to catch them...

  • some of them have red lights on their heads

  • I was looking at a field of fireflys and i saw a RED light!

What the hell was this? I thought they only glow greenish yellow, but i could have sworn i saw a red light from one on the ground... i was trippin... couldnt find the bug cause it was too dark and only did it once

  • Bad news... fireflies are disappearing all over the world, at the same time. Scientists think it's a combination of air pollution and "light" pollution, that is confusion their mating patterns. 70% of all fireflies are now gone, from 20 years ago.

  • Great job following it. Keep it up!!!
