I ride a 99 Homegrown full suspension with this design, and it does not 'bob' when you are standing; a great help on climbs. My own opinion is that when you are standing, you don't need suspension: that's what your legs do. On some descents I sit and let the old SID take most of the hits. I love the design.
I just got through spending 2 weeks with this bike. It is the last bike anyone would need. It is designed with the "sweet spot" geometry that *by design* stiffens the frame up when you are out of the saddle climbing. Absolutely fantastic & attention to detail like no other frame manufacturer I've encountered. Mr. Castellano is a genius - fortunately the military doesn't have him, we cyclists get the benefits.
this is a "integrated rear triangle" design that became briefly popular in the 90s mtbs. the suspension hardly works when youre out of the saddle, and only a handful of companies still make em - cos (i think) theyre crap
