I disagree. If you slip and miss with this form than you fall so it's not any more secure than not using it. Also, sometimes the wall is too wide and this cannot be done in the first place. Lastly, this technique shows a lack of control and comfort with the movement.
....it also hurts.

Lann's arms jump always confuse me! Why doesn't he just grab with his fingers?!?! Makes no sense. (1:12) In this case it looks like he slipped which is crazy! - what an incredible presence of mind to catch himself. But he seriously does this in other videos too as do the other member of the Yamakasi. Still can't figure out why.
