@gatemarzipan i guess that makes sense wow i didnt know it was that big...

@80z90zhouzemuzicgrl First off, if you have sizable, superficial veins that are easy enough to locate, this really isn't necessary, it's more of a supplementary tool to palpation, which should be the primary method of locating and choosing a good vein. Second, my real point was for this to be really practical and useful, it should be smaller and more portable. That thing's the size of an x-ray machine!

@gatemarzipan oh really and ud rather have some idiot stick u and move the needle sideways and up and down ..i dont care if u have to move that thing 100.times its better than feeling that needle move around

@halkiphulkiben This is not a type of X-ray at all. As it states, it uses near infrared light, similar to how my videos use near infrared light to see through my wife's shirt. Assuming it works in a similar way, the infrared light penetrates the skin and reflects back at different rates from veins vs flesh, etc. Presumably the contrast is turned way up (or they have some other technology to increase the contrast) so that there is a very visible difference between veins and other tissues.

This would be pretty handy if you suck!

That looks awesome...but it seems highly impractical to lug that thing around every time you do venipuncture.

the doctor did not greet the nurse???! that's what i don't like when doctors don't greet nurses back. if it were not for the nurses, the doctor would be nothing but a diagnosing and ordering machine.
Too bad there is no sound!
