Charted at #1 on Billboard chart in early 1950. With the Dixieland All-Stars. This was the b-side (!) of "Copenhagen". "Copenhagen" did not chart, but this became Teresa's first and biggest hit. She recorded it many times, but this is the original.

Original Billboard review: "A gay, corny feed-the-nickolodean novelty is sung with infectious vitality, backed with an old-fashioned, thumping orking. Should be a good one in the boxes."

  • OK for the music, but where the f..! is the video clip that earlier was on YT

  • @Bluesgoose If you are talking about the Ed Sullivan clip, videos from the Sullivan show are not allowed by the copyright holders on any YouTube channels except for the official Sullivan YouTube channel.

Hi, tnx for prompt answer and info on YT rent.

Well, I don´t think the clip was from a show at all. It more looked like it was cut out of a movie. There is something behind her, maybe like a music box or a piano. No people. Pretty much close ups all the time. Trying to remember I think I´ve seen the ES clip too and as I remember the music nor the performance is as good in the ES clip as in the one I´m thinking of.

    Any ideas ?

    Regards

    CB

  • @Bluesgoose Now I think you might be talking about the Soundie of the song that Teresa made. Soundies were very early music videos from the early '50's. Yes, I remember that clip used to be on YouTube too, I don't know who owns those.

  • Wow, all this time I thought Teresa Brewer had sung Let Me In, but just found it on Youtube, and it's not by her at all! Let Me In was sung by The Sensations. I'm so glad I finally found it. =)

  • @beatlebette The Sensations did a remake of "Music Music Music" in the early '60's, which is where the confusion is likely coming from.

  • Teresa Brewer recorded this song on December 20, 1949, and it became a #1 hit in 1950. The R&B group The Sensations released an updated rendition in 1961. This was my favorite song in 1950--I was seven years old. ♫♥♫
