  • @jcdenton2k dats wat happen when you let the makers of golden axe make an rpg =P. as interesting of the story and time travel elements in ps3, they game seriously lacks appearance and gameplay. its a shame

  • @jcdenton2k Big changes like that are usually stupid, but if they make sense I prefer the English version. I, for example, prefer Frog over Kaeru. Noone who doesn't speak Japanese would understand the latter one and conversation between English and Japanese players is really less of a standpoint for me. Than again there are cases where they're really unnessecary. For example: In Detective Conan they renamed Shinichi to Jimmy and Ran to Rachel. Don't like those names.

  • Alisa, you may be ignored by the mainstream but you shall never be forgotten <3

Felicia Day = modern day Alisa :)

  • @jcdenton2k:

Thank god that Sony's idea of audio CD copy protection didn't take off and was actively rejected by the standards commissions responsible for making the audio cd standards we enjoy today.

  • @davidterrell:

Perhaps, but I still believe the overall story and thematic elements, as well as the aesthetics of PS3 were far weaker than the rest of the 'main' Algol series of PS1-PS4.

Even the Sonic Team themselves recognized this and ignored including PS3 in many of the later rereleases.

  • @RPGHacker86:

Another example of translation things that sorta ended up working was the way they added an 'Old English' accent to 'Frog' from Chrono Trigger. It ended up becoming part of his personality (even if nobody else in his time spoke that way) so much so that fans demanded it be kept that way even in later releases.

I prefer his Japanese name 'Kaeru' which is 'Frog' in Japanese. Sounds better, IMHO. :)

  • @RPGHacker86:

Well as the comments between us show, if we'd kept the Japanese names of Alisa and Raira, there'd be a lot less confusion between which person you're talkin about.

I prefer Japanese spellings/names because they often make more sense in most translation cases, as translators rarely have time to do the script the justice it deserves.

Reference 'Ted Woolsey' and the incredibly frenzied work he had to do on FF6 and other games. He's a mad genius, given the time he had.

  • @jcdenton2k at least recomment ppl to read up on the story of ps3. it ties in with the other games. the main ending (Aron's) also explains how the earthmen got the technology in which they used to create the mother brain. yah, alot of time travel happened in ps3 =]

  • Thank god that CDs aren't region-protected.

  • This shit goes HARD at da club.
