Because origin of Viet Vo Dao is military art for real combat, not for dance or show off. But very effect for take enemy down, event kill enemy instant since it target vital point of human body.

I thought that Vovinam and Viet Vo Dao were combined and made Vovinam Viet Vo Dao. I heard that Vovinam & Viet Vo Dao had themselves a nice litle conference and that Viet Vo Dao would change their uniforms to blue.

As far as I know the Tay Son school is certainly not a an "element of oversea vovinamers". Its heritage runs back to Tay Son Phuong Hoang, as taught by a general of Quang Trung after the fall of the Tay Son (or at least that's what I read).

What LOONNNGGG said was true. Master Phan Hoàng (founder of VietVoDao black uniforms) did come to agreement with GM Lê Sáng about this. For some reasons, there are still VietVoDao black uniforms. But then again, Vovinam is kinda messy with its organizational structure where elements of Oversea Vovinamers still do not accept new training curriculum. On these clips, I see Cross Form and Dragon-Tiger forms done a bit differently than Vovinam.

In France at least, the term "Viet Vo Dao" is a generic term used to refer to any vietnamese martial arts school, not only vovinam.
In 1995, five vietnamese schools joined the french federation of martial arts (FFKMA) under the common designation "viet vo dao". The five schools are Tay Son, Lam Son, Hoa Long, Trung Hoa and Vovinam.
I am no expert in the matter, but I seriously doubt that these different styles, and what their masters teach, are "basically the same thing".

I don't get why Viet Vo Dao doesn't just combine with Vovinam. I mean basically it's the same thing, just different stances and a few different moves. I thought that Viet Vo Dao and Vovinam already discussed the whole unification thing.

Hi long, there are many different viet vo dao schools and vo vi nam is just one of them. I would say there is no point trying to create a unique style where it doesn't exist.
Cheers.
