It's awesome how much of this stuff happened because of Jason Webley. The GTO working with Amanda, Amanda meeting Neil, Evelyn Evelyn... all because people were moved by Jason and trusted that if Jason liked someone, that person was cool to work with.

This is the future of popular music. A group of artists get together and raise the money from friends and fans and deliver what those friends and fans want. If they have what it takes to fill their chosen niche, they will make it. There are starving peope with talent, and their are schmucks making bazillions. AFP and GTO and all the fan-supported bands on You Tube or similar electronic venues redress a serious grievance in modern artistic life.

Screw MTV. They have become irrelevant. We can program our own playlists Great bands never become yesterday's news. Screw the record companies. They hold themselves in too-high regard. They hold their personal aesthetics to be universal even when they have no grounds to believe so. They don't have time to mine niche markets. Screw the studio-sponsored, studio-crafted "artists." If they need coaching, how can you call them "talented." AFP is a finger to their faces.

When I watched Amanda & the GTO play in Toronto I was very close to the stage, although I was not in the centre of the crowd, I was at the side... where Michael was playing. Oh that face and that body.
