I can't believe they would do such a thing. My heart goes out to you and the school. Things like this only hurt us further in the illiteracy issue we have in our country.
Wow Suzanne, I don't know what to say. All the work, effort, and for what? I don't just feel horrible for the students - but you, they just smashed your hard work and dream for a book-topia. We're currently homeschooling our 10-year daughter - it's not always easy but I think we made the right choice and she's getting a great education. She said "Mom, why would they do this? Isn't a library more important than a teacher's lounge? This is very sad."
This is the type of thing you will see more and more if Barrck the Crock gets his way and pimps out all our public schools to the charters. It's time to demand the local media cover things like this instead of the latest dancing contestant elimnated.
OMG, that is disgusting! My heart goes out to you. I hear there will be a table at our city librarian conference. I for one will be visiting such table.
This is an absolute travesty!!!!! Have you tried calling one of the news programs? They should be running this on the 5 o clock news and Klein should be kissing your feet for what you did for this library!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Where are the parents and community members who should be demanding the head of the chancellor on a platter? I would never allow my children to attend a school without a great library!
Oh my! What a travesty! My heart goes out to Suzanne the librarian and all those who volunteered their time and talents to create a lovely facility. It makes me so very grateful to live and work in a community that values and supports our school libraries... Norman, Oklahoma. If Suzanne doesn't need the job, seems to me a lawsuit may be in order!
