sometimes its just too easy.

To clear up the praying vs preaching debate. Almost all street preachers pray during their street side tirades. I understand that preaching the good news isn't the same as praying. The good news in most cases is judging those who walk by. Next time you see a street preacher, they inevitably fall into prayer. That's when you use this verse. "Oh god, please I ask you to lead these lost sheep to your holy light, please god, make your presence be known. blah blah blah....." That's prayer. And 90 percent with fall into it during their street side judging sessions. If you don't believe me, then look at some of the street preachers here on youtube. They pray like "hypocrites" (the bible's words, not mine) and also are obsessed with judging those who dare contradict their divine interpretation of the word of god.

Want examples of street preachers praying. They're all over youtube :) Here's a few.

  • Atheist or not, this sucked.

  • Soon people will be saying "oh my Dawkins/Harris/Hitchens/Dennett/etc" or maybe just "damn it" in case of the usual swearing.

  • @BenjaminWirtz The gospels are NOT evidence, mostly because in the same documents that you are adopting as actual facts, people talked to snakes, walked on water, got impregnated without sperm, rose from the dead (frequently), etc. It is a STORY and it pains me to see people who actually believe it. Josephus commonly exaggerated, embellished, and overstated his writings (Mount Tabor example). He wrote highly about his exploits in order to enhance his image, and that is certain.

  • @FiveYearPayoff

So you saying that Josephus and Tacitus are not reliable? Written in the 16th century? That is absurd when we have extant copies earlier than that. The Gospels should also be considered reliable sources because if we throw them out we would have to throw out just about any Historical document about anything.

  • @SubParWaffle There are actually very few credible sources that even mention Jesus outside of the bible, and all of them (including the bible) pose the question of authenticity. Many roman documents that Christians rely so heavily upon to justify the existence of Jesus have been debunked as being written in the 16th century. It all comes down to the fact that believing something without SUBSTANTIAL PROOF is called blind faith. Find me one non-religious document describing Jesus.

  • @mirta000 we have hundreds of thousands of documents dated back to roman times describing the life of Jesus all with the same story. That is more written evidence of anything that has ever existed. We have more evidence jesus is the messiah than we do that Shakespeare wrote Romeo and Juliet.

  • lmao

  • U suck

  • @mirta000 the same page? Sorry, it is still morning to me - I meant the same event, except it's a different follower writing about it.
