  • That is exactly correct. A higher index of refraction IS a slower medium! :) remember n=c/v. The slower v (slower speed) results in dividing by a smaller number, resulting in a higher index of refraction!

  • sir, doesn't a phase change only occur when light is going from a fast to a slow medium? You stated that a phase shift occurs when the index refraction is going higher.
