Birthday Hat and Noisemaker Find - Happy 15th Birthday Team Fortress! [TF2]

It's the 15th Birthday of Team Fortress and Valve has been celebrating by giving everybody who played TF2 during the August 2011 Team Fortress Birthday period (around 23rd August) a nice Party Hat and Birthday themed Noisemaker for use in TF2 Birthday Holiday periods only.

Valve also updated all health and ammo kits in the game to look like birthday themed items, such as cakes and presents.

how do you use them? what button do you press?

@TomFuIp You press your "Use Item" key with the Noisemaker in your Action slot, I'm not sure what the default key is, but I have mine set to "V".

I am slightly confused, so everyone who played TF2 before 23th August 2011 got a hat and noisemaker?

I've been playing TF2 really since about July 30th 2011 [lol orange box, which I mainly bought for Portal] yet I don't have either of them.

Did you need to play TF2 on the actual 15th anniversary day itself?
