I found this interview with the world famous pianist, Artur Rubinstein, when he was 90. Every year more than 30,000 commit suicide in Japan. I hope this will help.

@ThePianoTester and therein lies the problem: someone who is in a state of despair, who feels so miserable that they believe their own life has no meaning, or they can no longer stand the pain of being depressed, they dont THINK of the future. They just cant SEE a future anymore. Thats why so many cant be helped. Its a very sad truth.

I think that suicide is pointless because... how could you know how your life will be in the future? Even if it is a shit know, could be inimaginable better in the future...

if your a manic depressive and on a down ward spiral you just get into the thinking of how and when.luckily I don t have many lows.and Rubinstein is right money a breakup of relationships make for a depressing situation.Why are we here.who made the universe it was always there so who made this earth distance from the sun etc give life and artists like Rubinstein Argerich Trifinov Gilels.They are our saviours.:) and we are lucky to exist in a beautiful world with strange fish and powerful music.
