AW11 Abusive response.

This car is so damn brutal in the handling aspect. It is absolutely gutless in the power department, but, it handles better than most 4 wheeled vehilcles on planet earth priced under 10 grand. You can't argue with the fact the driver has some balls to be this cocky on dirt/ice/water/mud/corners. The speed would have been much higher had the passenger not been freaking out the whole time asking him to please keep the tail end in at a managable level of slip angle.

Pretty much stock aside from a cat back exhaust and an open air filter and fuzion HRi tires with about half life left on them.

It's a discontinued (can't remember who made it) 580 line pen cam (170 degree wide angle lens) wired to a 12v source (cig lighter plug in from radioshack), recording on a Cowan C2 PDR device in 640x480 resolution at 32 fps, as per the default settings of the recording device. The cam was ordered with an external wired "high gain" mic that was mounted under the deck lid next to the intake charge pipe for added intake noise as the 4AGE's sound awesome.

We found the basic model 170 degree lens GoPro Hero (not the HD model) records in a nearly identical fashion and works flawlessly as the pen cam was rather sketchy.

Actually.. the Aw11 is only called an MK1.5 if it has the 3SGTE engine from the SW20

the half..or .5 is cause it's a hybrid between the MK1 and MK2.

Lastly, if you have a 4A engine then it's a MK1.. no matter what trans you run,, and no matter if it's NA/Turbo/SC

i have1989 mr2, same color as toc, bone stock. i love how the car accelerate(especially above 4200rpm), but really hate the handling. stock suspension is way too soft for the car's purpose.too much body roll. toc, did you put strut bar, or add anything to the suspension? in a way, i kinda dissapointed with my mr2 handling. but i think if only the suspension were harder, the handling would be much better

@EvanAxer At 200Hp in a 2500LB car you would be in the 0-60 in 5ish seconds.. at 250hp you are in the high 4's low 5's.. I agree with Toctuning.. You would need to be insane to do those kind of mods to this car.. I have a 500HP mustang i am trying to sell, because it has just gotten to much to drive on the street.. a high 11 low 12 street car is just too much... No longer enjoyable..

I'm surprised that the SW11 weighs more than the MR-S from the 2000's. Still a cracking little car. Big fan of MR-2's.

@SusanSally88 if u can stick a 400 small block and cadilac tranny in a aw-11 u can put another yoda engine in...takes time, pateince oh..and money some money!

@toctuning They are great, grea great great motors. Easy to mod, hold well to boost, and make stupid amounts of power. And lets not forget they are pushrod motors, so they make torque for days!!!
