The rest who think they play like Jaco have to use 6, 7, and 8 string basses made by conklin or smith ! Jaco did it all on a fretless 4 string !!

Jaco slapped a new fretted neck on his bass before the video. He slotted the nut, adjusted the truss, and saddles in about 15 minutes !! It takes me 30 minutes if everytthing is going right and an hour if there is problems. He slaps a bass together with a nut file job in 15 ! The dude was amazing in all aspects and no one can duplicate him to a tee ! He's imitated by many, and a few can tribute him in Jaco's style like richard Bona , or Marcus Miller does Jaco slap style. That's it !

As someone who studied with Jerry Jemmott it's really sad to see these silly comments. What in the world does his forehead have to do with his contribution to music? Instead of comparing Jerry to Jaco just appreciate their respective contributions to music. Jerry is an innovator in his own right, that is why he was one of Jaco's heroes.

I am reluctant to post comment but anyway:

I don't care about Jerry's forehead he is as Jaco put it "the Groove king"

I don't mourn Jaco constantly, I highly respect Jaco for what he achieved with the Bass and the doors he opened but nether the less I cant stand the constant never ending stream of clones of new "fusion" players that say nothing with their lines.

I prefer G&L compared to Fender but I am me in all respects.

PEOPLE TAKE WHAT YOU CAN AND CREATE, MAKE AND BE SOMETHING NEW!
