Heck yes! I loved Ellie the lady druggist! Helen was HORRIBLE with her gossiping and short fused tempers. Helen Crump stinks!

a good cast is essential to its survival. It lasted several seasons, the women WERE important to the show beacause through constant exposure they became endearing characters. But so did the men.
Floyd, Goober, BARNEY especially Barney carried the show for years and when he left the ratings went down big time. Thats why they asked him back with visits to Mayberry. So please dont tell me what Im suggesting.

Folks, Can't we just agree that the show rules? The song is about how a man could love a woman as much as he loves his favorite television show to which he is fiercely loyal.
