The other day, during an afternoon or early evening, I was having trouble waking up. My body was alseep, but I could see everything the way my room is and how I was lying there. I wanted to wake up, but I could not attach myself to my physical body, and I could not make my physical body move or open my eyes. My spirit body was just on top of my physical body, I was very scared. Then I thought, "Oh no, could my physical body died or my heart stop?" Then suddenly I was able to wake up.

Ahh..thank you for explaining, I thought it may have been sleep paralysis, but I wasn't sure if it was considered a dream state. Myself (soul) was trying to re-enter my body, but somehow it wouldn't merge to take control of my physical body that was just lying there.

well yes sort of a dream state because you were probably seeing the astral counterpart of your room etc...

when re-entry is too abrupt because we have been called back from far away by an unusal noice etc..

re-entry can be a little strange & if we re-enter too fast we may be missaligned for a few hours & feel very grogy!

Can sex be had on the astral planes? I think I'm going to always want sex no matter what level of existence I'm at.

@ArcturianStar Thank you SO MUCH for beautifully articulating this sleep paralysis feeling. I've had countless eps with this. One time I made the connection because I "woke up" in bed and across the room I saw a shadow figure by my bedroom door. I looked at it, it looked at me and it flew over to me and I slamed back into my body on the bed. Even with knowing this it still is a very freightening feeling. The vibrating, buzzing noises whispers and seeing shadows in the room.

That stuff about portals and keys sounds exactly like Kingdom Hearts :D

I'm starting to find that some of my favorite series actually make complete sense..Fiction isnt as strange as it seems XD

That's what scares me when I have sleep paralysis ^-^' I really feel someone is just right there.. my mind is aware but can't move my body.. and I would try so hard to make my body move and open my eyes 'coz I wanna get up as the presence scares me (O_O')
