After forming in 2005, A Plea for Purging quickly gained a reputation for hard work, with a heavy touring schedule that included over 200 live shows during their first year together[4]. Their debut release A Critique of Mind and Thought saw them sign on with Facedown Records in 2007[5]. In 2009 A Plea For Purging recorded Depravity with Facedown Records. In 2010 the band released the concept album The Marriage of Heaven and Hell.
