In Australian English, a shrimp is called a prawn. The only reason the word shrimp was used in that tourism slogan was to make sure the Americans understood that advertising campaign.

nobody uses it anymore yet we are still thought of as riding kangaroos and "eatin' bush tukka, mate!"
the majority of australians in urban areas (particularly the younger generations) are in fact quite well spoken...
why can't it just be accepted that we are civilised, educated people and that the idea of us being convicts is about 150 years out of date...
be proud of your command of the english language! don't perpetuate rubbish!
