@Toocrazyforthisworld You're against china because of a commercial! RASIST AND STUPID!
-
Lmao

This commercial isn't racist at all, as the definition of racism is viewing your race as superior to another particular race... how does this show that? If anything it's a stereotype of Eastern and Western cultures, but it IS NOT racist. If you're going to pretend to be politically correct at least use the proper terms. The more you know!

Well, it is well executed commercial that deserves to be in museums as a testiment to our racist, or shall I say more racist, past. Clearly it is not something I would wan't my kids watching, outside the context of a history lesson.
As I always say, put yourself in other peoples shoes. Throughout your whole childhood you have classmates make squint eye faces at you and talk to you in stereotypical Asian. You are not a person anymore someone elses view of an ethnic group.

But I don't get offended when they make ridiculous characatures of nerds, such as Steve Urkel or "Revenge of the Nerds," in movies, TV shows, or commercials... why don't the makers of those things have to put themselves in my shoes...?

You have missed the point. Wether or not your are considered a "nerd" is based on your pattern of behavior and peoples observations about you. Racism/prejudice is seeing a person and immediately jumping to conclusion soley based on race rather than judging a person by his actions.

I don't know. I don't believe this is a racist commercial... perhaps a "naive" one. Not that I'm the ultimate arbiter of that sort of thing, but I really don't think whoever designed this hated Chinese people or intended to promote hatred of Chinese people or to pander to other people's possible hatred of Chinese people. The mood is actually affectionate toward these characters. And people are just people. My skinniness in high school was no more under my control than my skin pigmentation.

I guess what I'm saying is that many of us have been picked on... even "mercilessly picked on" for attributes not under our control. I don't see why one -- "race" -- is considered so much more devastating than any other. I also think that the fight against racism would be more meaningful (and effective) if it more directly focused primarily on people who actually hate others on the basis of their race, rather than trivialities.
