dont worry man dont compare yourself with others everybody resonances different energies while making music Im playing guitar too but Im not comparing myself with any other guitarist cuz the point is as long as you are happy what you playing and enjoying that moment, nothing matters you are your own god...that is his style his energy, I bet you have your style too with beautiful tunes...these are may sound crazy but musicians would understand

I think what he means is nails will give more power, in terms of loudness. Then I believe Mckee doesn t have long nails but it s as beautiful. But here the sound is sharper and probably louder to hear in real, rahter than through a mic

Continuing from that, I can see why he would choose to use fingernails for this, as he is probably trying to make the melody notes present within the song to stand out. If he uses his fingertips instead, the sound will be a bit more mellow. But there are genres, or particular songs, where it might sound better to use fingers instead of nails. For instance, jazz. Jazz guitarists love the mellow tone produced from the skin. Like I said, it depends on the player, song, genre, and type of guitar.

no, that's not true at all man...it's completely subjective. A les paul guitar naturally has a bit more of a muddy tone compared to a strat, which has a thinner tone. Both are about the same price, so I don't see your analogy at all. Most cheap guitars have pickups with characteristics that are not sought after, such as not enough EQ in a certain frequency range, or too muddy, etc. or the hardware is not as good. Finger nails create a crisper tone, while fingers have a mellower tone.
