Psyvariar [PS2] - Gameplay (Part 1)

Psyvariar is currently my favourite shmup on the PS2. It's actually easier than it looks due to the tiny collision box and slow enemy bullets. The "buzz" power up system encourages you to get close to bullets instead of away from them, but as you can see sometimes you can get too close! This is only my 5th attempt at this game so please be forgiving :-)

The PS2 has quite a poor RGB signal unfortunately, so the videos is a bit blurry.

Hi shaurz.

Just won this on ebay £4.00 with free pp, looking forward to getting it, it looks like a pretty good shmup although the backgrounds look a bit bland, im currently after psyvariar 2 on dreamcast but i know its going to cost a lot more than this.

@dnmggp I like them both. The game style is quite different though. Ikaruga is much harder too.

i got it and its a nice game but i think the backrounds of the levels are to plain for a ps2 game in comparsion with other vertical scrolling shooters.

Excellent shmup. Got it as well. Love the way the big ships and the planet underneath go by and the action just continues on! yep! Wonderful shmup!
