Goliath Crane Tragedy: Ironworker Killed - The Morning After

On Thursday afternoon, August 14, 2008, ironworkers were dismantling the Goliath Crane at the Fore River Shipyard in Quincy.

A portion of the crane broke loose unexpectedly and crushed ironworker Robert Harvey.

Harvey grew up less than a mile away from the shipyard in Weymouth.

He was 28 years old and a newlywed living in Quincy.

This video depicts the scene the morning after.

People boarding the commuter boat from Quincy to Boston quietly stared at the crane and workers in the shipyard.
