My string changing procedure has been adapted from a video by Rob Magargal at Taylor, which includes removing all the strings and then cleaning the fretboard and body before re-stringing. You can find that video and the second part by searching Clean & Restring Pt. 1. The owner is TaylorQualityGuitars.

Actually, it doesn't matter with a steel string guitar if you take them all off. They're like that in factories before getting strings put on them. Just adjust the truss if you need to afterward. People need to get over the misconception that it's bad for the guitar, 'cause it's no longer true. (Ever since, like, the 1600s probably. I'm not sure when the steel string was invented. More likely mid 1700s.)
