  • Poor hummingbirds! Eating dyed water is making them reproduce babies with disabilities!!! Use plain water with sugar at a ratio of 1:4

  • Nice video, but it is not needed to use colored water , in fact the dyes are considered to be potentionaly harmfull to hummers, why use it and take a chance when you will have just as many hummers without. it.

  • Dope. You shouldn't be using dyed nectar.

  • I loved this especially the crazy western action music in the background

  • @kdashy7 Lies, goofy person you.

  • Although no studies have been conducted on hummingbirds, it's been tested on rats and has been proven harmful, Hummingbirds with their high metabolism could easily exceed 10X's the recommended amount set for humans.

  • I can't believe I just watched a video of George watching hummingbirds.....sigh .... I gotta get a life....

  • Nice video but, you seem too close, as the birds are using only one side?

    Take care,

  • @FruiteBu I wouldn't go around saying the red dye clogs their colons. However, studies on humans and mice have shown long-term issues with red food coloring. More than likely, yes, it is harmful to hummingbirds (to what extent or in what capacity has yet to be determined) and the red food coloring is not necessary. The feeder already has red on it, which is all the hummers really need. I tie strips of red surveyors tape on mine, just to add that extra touch of visibility (clear liquid in mine).

  • @kdashy7 Well, it hasn't been proven (yet), so I wouldn't go around saying that. However, human and mice tests have shown some issues regarding red food coloring. It's sad to see that *some* companies producing hummingbird "nectar" still use red dye...and defend their position. One even offered $100 to anyone who could cite research saying it was detrimental. I sent them a good human study, but never heard back. Not surprised.

  • please leave along to those beautiful birds..

  • LOL! such dramtic music in the background. Like an adventure or something
