The 4cyl has plenty of power but makes alot of noise when you need the power. Overall, a good car. Very well thoughout controls, everything is in the right place to find and use easily. The headrests in the rear semi block your rear view mirror. I don't care for the flashy chromy look of the wheel hubs. Seats are okay but could be a little more comfortable. I do own this car BTW. I also like the Hyundai Vera Cruz as well, that's another story...

Great review!! One thing I do disagree with, though - the original Sorento was one of the first prime-time SUV's on the market. While it was a truck-on-frame design, it was still a big player in the segment, offering more for less. Back then, there was only the Highlander, the Pilot, the Santa Fe, the Equinox and the Murano as the headliners of the midsize segment. So, it's not new to the game by any stretch...but great review, nonetheless :) Keep em comin!

IVAN? Was that you shooting video while you were driving? Do you shoot all your video yourself? I am very pleased I found your reviews Ivan. I had the chance to see one of these on the lot the other day. I was trying to find a new Optima and I came across these and I wasn't sure what I thought of it compared to the competition. I am not crazy about the rear view but you have to admit Kia and Hyundai have just jumped leaps and bounds in the past 24 months.

i thought it was 1,650 for the 4 cylinder (towing capacity) and 3500 for the v6? and the v6 sorento is quicker than the outlander. this is around 7 seconds. the outlander around 8.
You do a good job with your reviews. I can't stomach a Kia though. Not yet. Too many question marks on quality. And why did they put racing inspired pedals? It's not even a car. Seems retarded.

@flexor212000 Definitely at least drive a Kia in the class of car you are thinking of buying. I think you will be pleasantly surprised, and they also come with a great warranty.
