  • Hello Judy, I started my project yesterday. I love the way you teach.

I have a question with the number of stitches you casted on. Initially you casted 24 stitches among which three of those have double stitches. So, when you knit the first row and knit each of those double stitches(3) the total stitches will still be 27. I am confused at this point. Did you knit 4 double stitches at the beginning ? Once again thanks for these wonderful videos!

  • @durgapavani

you knit the double stitches as one so you end up with the same 24 stitches. have fun knitting and please look for me on facebook too.

  • Judy this is a great video but I am curious. You said you casted on 24 then did you do an M1 because I thought you said you had to increase to 28 (or is it 38?) I'm a little lost.

  • @TheGuiltyParent

I cast on 24 and after the ribbing increased to 34. Watch the video again if you haven't already. Thanks.

  • @knittingtipsbyjudy I wonder is it possible to make fingerless mittens without using circular needles or double pointed needles because I only have regular knitting needles.

  • How can i ensure these mitts will fit my hands?

  • @TheGuiltyParent (I believe, don't put all your faith in me lol) At the beginning, she cast on with the tail for four stitches. That's where the double stitches came from. That's what I did. Hope that helps.

  • I think I need to rephrase my question... you said there are double stitches and you used those to increase to 28 but how did you knit double stitches, I've never done that before.

  • @knittingtipsbyjudy Thanks for your reply. Yes I haven't given up yet, I was in Milan last week and I found a much smoother pair of circulars. They are much better. W OW ...should you ever come to Sardinia I'd love to meet you, you are my idol...everytime I've got a problem with knitting i search for your videos.. Happy summer!!

  • @rosanna1952

Have you used the needles yet? I would think they would get easier and less rigid as you use them. hope your project goes well. thanks for the hug from Sardinia. Someday maybe I'll get there!
