this is a great movie showing a guy that has the mental capacity to think for himself and hasnt been brainwashed into thinking that an unforced loving relationship with a child that gives consent is wrong and has the knowledge to know that their is no such thing as a pedophile as it means pedo (child) phile (lust) only if homosexuality or force is used would it be wrong i hope this helps to educate the non learned out there if not please seek help or maybe open a book

I have to admit, the prospect of even seeing this movie initially creeped me out, but everyone from Ebert & Roeper to Howard Stern raved about it. I may just have to toughen up and watch it for myself. Lee Daniels is a great director, that's for sure.

@MultiManmade You didn't get my point. I don't care about Nicole Kidman and what she did. K.B. is a hell of an actor and this movie was not recieved well at all, but the subject needed to be addressed and it was offered to alot of actors who turned it down...he an his wife took it on and had peope look at it from the child molesters point of view. It was an excellent movie and he was brave to take the role.

Amazing Movie.

@MultiManmade Nothing I have said was related to what you just said. My personal opinion though: all pedophiles are pedophiles, females as well as male. There is no difference. Don't give a fuck what your culture thinks. That's my opinion. Now leave me the fuck alone.

@atlasshrugged2u "This film was brilliant! kudos to KB for even taking this part on, takes guts to even deal with this kind of subject. An actor of actors, love Kevin Bacon"
I don't think it takes guts for someone like Kevin Bacon to play a child molestor in this movie. You wanna know why?? For the same reason why Nichole Kidman didn't have a problem playing a female child molestor in that one movie of hers where she had sex with a teen boy. There cannot be a double standard

@smoke117 "Kevin Bacon got screwed. I've never thought of him as more than an average to decent actor, but he was absolutely phenomenal in this. That's a crime that he wasn't nominated for best actor."
If this had been Sarah Jessica Parker or Denise Richards playing this part as a child molestor having sex with 13 year old boys in this movie the woodsman, Guarantee she wouldn't have gotten screwed and nobody would have looked at this as rape or pedophilia. Its a double standard.
Quite possibly the BRAVEST performance in cinema HISTORY...

The best film I've seen in many years.
Touching, disturbing and sad.
