Assassin solo Destroyer Cores Farm (pre March & May 2008 update)

So...everyone wants destroyer cores do they? Ok...I get it JEEZ! Alright, so over the past few weeks people have been bugging me a bunch once I told them I can solo farm destroyers with my assassin far easier than any other class. But they didn't believe me and complained I was lying and laughed at me like fools. So here it is, and for those of you who doubted me, I guess you don't know me well enough. The actual time for the farm was approximately 6:30, of which about 3:00-4:00 was waiting for entire wave.

Since I'm feeling nice, I will also tell you all how to do it right. Try not to get lost in my convoluted explanation. I will try keep it as simple as possible.

Ok so to start of, here's the template: OwVTMQv+5hHtE0ZmgOvLLgBFAA

Copy that and paste it into your template folder as a notepad file. Now for the equipment. For this build to work, this part is VERY VERY VERY important. Note that for this build you need TWO staffs. Why? I will get to that in a bit. Now for the armor, ALL your armor pieces should have radiant insignias. You may or may not want attunement runes, but you can decide if your energy is causing you trouble or not later, but what I suggest is you use a vigor rune, higher the better(this is a safety measure). Your helm must be 1+3 shadow, and one of your other pieces must have a +1(preferably +2) deadly arts.

Now, as I said earlier the staffs are one of the most important part of this build. This build is going to allow you to remain in shadow form for the entire duration...that's right you heard me...UNLIMITED SHADOW FORM!!! DUN DUN DUN! Ok, so now you know what's going to happen. Pay attention to the next bit of information as it is most crucial.

The stats for the staffs are best as follows:

Staff 1: This must have 20% hsr and a 10% hct. Having an optional +5 energy is suggested but not required.

Staff 2: This must have 20% hsr and a 20% enchant mod in it. Again, having a +5 energy mod is suggested but not required.

Now for the fun. UNLIMITED SHADOW FORM. The sequence is EXTREAMLY IMPORTANT. If at any point you screw up, 99.7% of the time you will DIE!!!

The sequence is as follows:
1=Paradox, Echo, Shadow Form
2=Paradox, Echoed Shadow Form, Channeling
1=Tap, Paradox, Echo, Shadow Form
2=Paradox, Echoed Shadow Form, Channeling
1=Tap, Paradox, Echo, Shadow Form and so on...sounds pretty easy no? Well it is with a slight bit of practice, however the timing MUST be accurate. If you are even a millisecond ahead, your Shadow Form will run out and you will die in an instant before you are able to bring it back up.

That is basically it...yep. The rest is easy. Just use tap if you're low on energy, once channeling is active go near destroyer group and take them down. Use refuge as needed for healing because you might take some damage here and there. DO NOT and I repreat DO NOT use viper's defense until one of the group is completely dead because you DO NOT know where you will end up and you may lose agro with a few destroyers who will just go kill off the dragon. Mind you this is doable in HM too. :)

Well that's about it...I know this is long, but I would highly appreciate it if you read this before asking me any questions because if the answer's in here, I will only direct you back here.

Other than that, I hope you all enjoy it...and yes assassins are gods in the hands of pros so stop treating them like crap in pve just because most newbs are bad at it. _-=*Kurow*=-_

PS: This build can farm a lot of other places, and yes this build can farm HM areas too. Try not to abuse it too much else the nerf will come very fast as ANet likes to nerf a lot, take for example the March 6th update which raped assassins hard.

*NOTE*: This build no longer works after the March 2008 update when "Inner Fire" was redefined and given a new healing effect.

Also no longer does it take any sort of skill and timing to have Shadow Form up at all times after the insanely ridiculous buff that was made to it on May 2008. This buff has killed the guild wars economy. I sincerely hope that if ANet has any interest in keeping the economy stable and the way it was(better), that they change the functionality of Shadow Form back to it's original functionality and simply reduce it's duration back to what it used to be before the May update.
