@azuree09 i understand ur concern, but just wanted to point out, a major company conducted studies on the waters of the river to check for its condition. They were surprised to learn that the water had absolutely no impurities. It can only be explained by the powers of the worship and spirituality of the millions that go there. It's stunning but what more proof of god do we need!

I can't imagine myself bathing on ganges river... I mean no offence fellahs but due to its severe condition I don't think it's safe to bath, and use the water for cooking food... If the river is holly for them, then it should not be abused and it should be sanitized.

sorry...had to get it off my chest..i have never been to India but as an Indian when i watch these documentaries i feel so much in debt to these people who have faught to keep this culture alive through so many turbulent times..and show us the true way of life! love us or hate us..i for one am so glad to be born as part of this culture..

But cultural and moral filth is from hell, difficult to rid of. Material filth and disease is easy to get around. For instance, if you love India so much, as you aver, it will not be tough to find a place free from filth. Disease cannot be avoided if you mix with filth or do filthy things like promiscuous sex.Don't forget India is home to more than a billion humans.Some, like you, want to avoid its environmental filth about which our corrupt democracy does nothing but reel out false statistics.
