A new song, finished long time ago, but that could only now be properly recorded.
Lyrics:

The light of the sun reflects on our helmets
Our hammer necklaces and runic bracelets
Far too many heathens are standing by proudly
Together so future shall dawn on more brightly

So much time has passed since Ragnar was killed
25 years since Odin's blood was spilled
See we haven't forgotten the awful affront:
Ragnar's sons now march on the front

Eagle, spread your wings,
Bloody wings,
And cry for revenge!
Christian blood be spilled
Royal blood
Of the king of England!

The Great Heathen Army finally united
Not too far away, the enemy's been sighted
Tremble, feeble Christians, your time hath come
Lodbrok's revenge fulfilled by his sons!

The city of York won't stand for much longer
Better come out, show courage though knowing we're stronger
King Aelle has been spotted and has nowhere to escape
Seize him quickly! He shall walk through Hel's gate!

Ivar the Boneless and Björn Ironside
Hvitserk and Ubbe, Sigurd Snake-in-the-eye
Oh, how did they grunt to a starless sky
When they discovered that the boar had died?

King of Denmark and king of Sweden
Now thou shallt rest in the hall that Odin hath given
Krákumál will atone wherever heathens live proud and free
And by all those for whom Valhalla is destiny!

Eagle, spread your wings,
Bloody wings,
And cry for revenge!
Christian blood be spilled
Royal blood
Of the king of England!

  • @xplorva I just found out he's my 39th great grandfather, my 10th great grandfather Bartholomew Heath (Ragnars 29th great grandson?) traveled from England to Massachusetts in 1632. I live in Minnesota.

  • Ragnar is one my ancestors. His (my) line ended up as one of the Norman nobles in France. They were given land and title in Shropshire after the conquest of England. My ancestors eventually emigrated from England to the US as Puritans in Massachusetts. We then moved across the US and ended up in Hutchinson, Kansas during the days of the wild west. I now live in Virginia.

  • @Tjalfi999 There is alot of Burrial mounds scattered all across Sweden, Only a few have been excavated.. I agree that they should start excavating the mounds but with respect.

  • @joonte1010 For people who are reading this and don't know about Björn's raid on Luna:

He though it was Rome, which he wanted to plunder, but its defenses were to much for the Vikings, so Björn sent a message into the city saying he was dying and wanted to convert to Christianity. He was baptized on his ship. The next day the Vikings said he had died and wanted to be buried in the church. During the funeral procession Björn sprang out of the coffin fully armed, and the rest is history.

  • @joonte1010 Oh, you are right, Bjorn was considered a Swedish chieftan, as I said, I don't know as much about him as his father and brothers, who were more focused on England, Norway, and France. Its cool they found his mound, I do hope they excavate it sometime, but respectfully, not the way some mounds are broken into, like Native American mounds. Bjorn was probably a real person, or like his father the stories of him are based on two or more Vikings, but most likely we will never know.

  • @Tjalfi999 Thats true, You never know if these people ever excisted, Björn have excisted just like Ivar the Boneless. They have found what is belivied to be Björns burrial mound in Sweden, They havent excavetad it yet which is sad.. In fact they havent had a look at that many burrial mounds in Sweden at all, Would be interesting to see what hidden treasures it is there..

  • @Tjalfi999 Björn was one of few chieftains in Sweden back then that gathered up a fleet to raid in the West, Most Swedish cheiftains and Vikings went east which is quite understandable since that was the closest route for them and they turned wealthy by their trade and service in the Varangian Guard. It was like a tradition among Swedish chieftains to gather up a fleet and raid the Eastern coastlines, Björn choosed to head west which made him different from all the others.

  • @Tjalfi999 Truthfully though, there isn't very much historical evidence for the life of Ragnar, it seems that he was a compilation of several Vikings by that name who all did things later ascribed to one Viking alone. Ivar the Boneless is the only one who has hard historical proof for his existence, and Sigurd Snake-eye is supposedly the father of Harald Fairhair, first king of Norway. So in any case Ragnar's descendants ended up ruling all of Scandinavia and Britain at some point in time.

  • @Tjalfi999 Björn havent got much attention thats true, But thats because the Swedes themselves never wrote down about their own achievements unlike the Norwegians and Danes who made it sure for the afterworld to know everything they did. Björn did alot of things, he raided along the coasts everywhere through Western Europe down the the Meditterean and yes, He aimed for Rome but attacked the wrong city, Luna. It is a quite hilarious story hehe, it wasnt as fun for the Italians thou.

  • @joonte1010 Yes, you are correct, Ragnar was of the Ynglinga Dynasty in Uppsala, but Ragnar ruled over Denmark only, until he conquered Sweden with his sons from King Eystein. Ivar later conquered England and ruled it until he died. As far as I remember from the saga, Björn wasn't ever the most important of Ragnar's sons, it was always Ivar and Sigurd Snake-eye who were the heroes (or villains, depending on how you look at it).

And Björn was the guy who led the hilarious Viking raid on Luna.
