Song of Albert Road Original Song Tim Dalton Lyrics John Finn tdal007

Song of Albert Road.

Verse 1. We held hands, in love, as we walked along,
by the Station on Albert Road.
The engines hissed and made strange noises,
as they took up steam for their heavy loads

Verse 2. Past houses and gardens we took our stroll
where people were getting set for their daily toil.
Men and boys off to the station their factories to run.
Wives and mothers agog, with shopping trips to plan!

Chorus-Life was more gentle then, though times could still be hard,
but you and I my love we will make it through,It is written in the stars.

Verse 3. But what of the children on this very day.
Where were they to go and play?
No problem in these Halcyon Times
Nannies took charge and knew their lines.

Verse 4 .Down the road, the Nannies did perambulate.
Pausing for others, like them, to join their gait.
The children, were servile, but excited too.
off to Titty Bottle Park, free to shout, hiss, and boo!

Chorus-Life was more gentle then, though times could still be hard,
but you and I my love we will make it through,It is written in the stars.

Verse 5.
I looked at my love and she smiled that smile,
the one that said she was with child.
All we need now is our child born and wait for life to see
that Nannies and Titty Bottle Park ,indeed, will set us free..

Chorus
Life didnt turn out to be so gentle then, along came the Great War!
But you and I my love we made it through ,it was written in the stars!

We are not there in body anymore,it was all so long ago
But our Spirits, in love, still walk Albert road, that we want you to know.

Chorus-Life was more gentle then, though times could still be hard,
but you and I my love we will make it through,It is written in the stars.
It is written in the stars.
