Stornoway Sunday ferry

The First Stornoway to Ullapool ferry sailed today, with about 15 religious protesters praying and singing, and well over two hundred Sunday ferry supporters cheering.

At last Calmac have seen sense and given us our Sunday service, which we have been demanding for over twenty years.
The local councilors have sided with the religious Mafia, in fear of being voted out in local elections I suppose. But everyone knows that a large majority of councilors are local business owners and have a vested interest in keeping us locals on the Island at weekends, as shopping trips to Inverness are now a viable option due to the RET scheme and now the Sunday sailings.
I'm sure the Island people will travel more on Saturdays to the mainland and return on Sunday in time for work the following Monday.
About time too!

The Wee Frees still live as they did 100 years ago and simply cannot see the huge benefits of Calmac serving their community 7 days a week....but the same Wee Free's will eventually use the ship themselves... hypocrites...all of them.

The Sabbatyh was made for Man. Those who publically break the Sabbath eventually bring economic loss on themselves anyway. Few recognise, for instance, that many of the commercial 'tricks' used by the giant chain supermarkets are derived - through the medium of sociology - from the Nazi experience.
