The Trap: What Happened to Our Dream of Freedom is a BBC documentary series by English filmmaker Adam Curtis, well known for other documentaries including The Century of the Self and The Power of Nightmares. It began airing on BBC Two on 11 March 2007.

The series consists of three, one-hour programmes which explore the concept and definition of freedom, specifically "how a simplistic model of human beings as self-seeking, almost robotic, creatures led to today's idea of freedom."

Impose Democracy, but not really? What was the point then? No wonder the world is so effed up, half baked theories, half implemented and then constantly tinkered with. You don't get it . The difference between the USA before the Second World War and afterwards is immense. The war made USA a super power. The war enabled sick men in the Whitehouse to spread their mucky might and values. LOOK to the politics of the Vietnam war, USA government behaved like the Nazis during this campaign, it brainwashed good American men to believe the Vietnamese were gooks, low life scum. Single party states and democracy, each have inherent faults inspired by biased leaders

I am sorry this whole line of argument is bollocks. Europe (mainly Great Britain) colonized virtually the entire world. Africa was carved up. The middle east was carved up on napkins passed around by colonial administrators. Asia and India were carved up, Then, Europe collapsed in the self-inflicted fratricide of WW1 and WW2. The retreat of colonial powers left chaos and anarchy in their wake, worldwide. The US waded into these quagmires *caused by others* through ignorance and naivete.

if you numb knuckles just focused on your society and let others find their own way according to their own cultures and heritage you dick heads would not be in such shit. The USA is now going down like Rome did. The game is over for the US. The world's idea of freedom now is a world with out the USA. People see this now as the only way to freedom.
