Firs Park became the home the Shire in 1921 after moving from their former ground, Merchiston Park in Bainsford which they had played on since 1907. Due to the prohibitive costs of improving facilities at the ground and in line with new regulations set by the Scottish Football Association, the club decided to leave Firs Park in the summer of 2008.

Nature not long in taking over eh?. Didn't know The Shire moved. Surprised that this isn't a supermarket or an estate now. Do you know of any plans

@clydeferries Yeah they moved out at the end of the 2008 season, the rumour is it will be demolished and the land sold on which I guess would be to a supermarket chain due to it's proximity to a retail park.
