  • @HATINTHEKAT that is fly tying thread best to use a kevlar thread for jigs. you can buy a basic vice for less than 20 bucks online. you will also need a bobbin which is that metal tube that holst the thread and makes it easy to let go of the spool without having thread all over the place. marabou is fairly cheap. just go to your local tackle shop or fly shop and ask them to set you up to make some jigs.

  • @JokiBroki when tying a jig this way it is okay to trim the ends but you do not need to, but if you palmer the marabou like most people would do to make steelhead jigs iits best to never trim any thing.

  • I dont think you should ever trim the marabou when tying jigs. You just ruin the natural way the marabou looks like.
