I made a video earlier this summer showing my homemade lawn mower boat engine. Now I made the fully functional canoe console for a school architecture project. The camera I filmed with did not pick up on the motors sound very well when i was showing the throttle. The throttle does work and accelerates the boat nicely. Hope you enjoy!

  • hey man this is pretty sweet. one of my leaf blowers broke recently. small echo that's a 2 cycle. it has a straight shaft on it so i've been thinking of putting a boat leg on it..do you know what's best for it? and I heard using an rc boat prop is better than a trolling motor prop......

any idea of how I could hook up an electric start to it?

    thanks

  • @krazykayaker82 We couldn't get the electric start working so your guess is as good as mine. I would imagine the prop would just depend on how powerful your engine is. The prop we used was to big when we tried it with a weed wacker engine. But when we attached the more powerful lawn mower engine, it did just fine. You just need to get one that is the appropriate size.

  • any vids of it on the water?

  • @HnEhonda Yeah check out my other videos

  • If you still have that or even if you dont, could you maybe make a video just simply explaining how the motor and propeller setup worked?

  • @mickeydamon I actually took a shortcut with that step...We just bought an old bought leg off ebay so fortunatly we didnt have to deal with the 90 degree turn for the propellor. We simply made some brackets for the motor to sit on the old leg, and just bolted it down.

  • I am truly impressed!

  • hey can u tell me how u installed the radio, because im planning on building one and i would like a stero

  • If you get water in the boat (from climbing in, or from splashing) will it short the wires? Might be in for a nasty surprise! This looks realy neat though. I like the steering system.

  • @4801232396 to get the electric start to work u first must need a starter but im sure u know that but what u could do is jusmp the starter with a switch like have it linline with the jump and that could turn it on and off but i dint see a battery so was there even a starter on the thing

  • how fast
