This is an exclusive clip from the London march in protest of cuts to Higher Education funding on 30th November 2010, filmed by a member of the UCL Occupation. It shows a police officer repeatedly punching a demonstrator (who appears to be in his early teens) in the head, despite no provocation from the demonstrator.

THE OFFICER'S IDENTIFICATION NUMBER, U1202, IS CLEARLY VISIBLE ON HIS SHOULDER, AND THERE IS A STILL OF THE FOOTAGE AT http://www.flickr.com/photos/ucloccupation/5223337158/.

WE CALL ON THE METROPOLITAN POLICE FOR AN IMMEDIATE SUSPENSION OF THE OFFICER UNTIL A THOROUGH PUBLIC INQUEST INTO THE ASSAULT HAS TAKEN PLACE.

We have also received photographic evidence from yesterday's march of a police officer who obscured the identification number on his shoulder. The photos can be viewed at http://bit.ly/eMYGlT. This breach of policy clearly shows that the officer in question intended to engage in unlawful criminal violence towards peaceful demonstrators. The Metropolitan Police Commissioner, Sir Paul Stephenson, addressed this very issue on 22nd April 2009, stating "If somebody is trying to deliberately avoid being identified and the reason he is doing it is so he can behave inappropriately, badly or criminally, then of course they will face the sack."
