I'm the son of two Confederate veterans that I know of, both Army of N. Va. - & I am glad to know that my people are courageous & loyal (as were my grandfather & father, in WWI & WWII) -- but I separate the issues in my mind, remembering that folks grew up around slavery & accepted it even though it entailed lots of cruely & basic injustice, & that once the war started it was bound to get brutal - one must avoid oversimplification, sentimentality, distortion - and just act like a good Christian

iam Australian, proud of my flag and country! but i would have fought for the south if i was alive then, as did many Australians that went over to fight for the cause. i have just recently found out that i had a relative during the civil war. long live the south!!!!!!!!!
