Got my new white Ibanez RG8 today, wanted to film a little clip so figured I would play the tapping lead in Collapse.

Mine has a intonation problem on the low string... out of the box :/

Yeah, the intonation wasn't perfect, but luckily it is easily adjusted

It seems OK. I'm thinking of replacing it however with a better one.

It did, but I adjusted the truss rod, changed my string gauges drastically (10-13-17-26-36-46-59-74), and raised the action quite a bit. I also found that raising the pickups up a bit helped the pickups sound a bit better, still not great though

It's pretty comparable actually. It doesn't hold tuning quite as well, and it just kinda feels cheaper, but I don't know if that's just because I know that it is.

Can you comment on the RG8 vs RG2228? in terms of quality, neck feel, heel size, sound unplugged. I have one in the mail at the moment and a pair of DA8s but curious to know how it stacks up to the prestige model.
