SCCA Race School, 03/22/2009 @ NJMP Lightning Circuit.
In car video of the final 10 minutes of my Race School, a "rolling start" 5 lap sprint race.
I entered this race school driving my friend's 1980 RX7 which runs in SCCA IT7. It's a 30 year old race car that shakes ratlles and rolls down the track, but sticks like "stink on s@%t"!
We had a few issues during the weekend, but the car was a blast to drive. (not much torque, but very neutral in the corners and plenty of grip)
So thanks to my friends Dave and Ed. and the patience and understanding of thier wives, I now posess a novice SCCA Regional Club Racing license!
u should. i remember watching my dad do that and sebring 12 hour. lots of fun i cant wait to get my scca license

Rock 'n roll!! I'm about the same as scotts79nova--wanna get in and get started, maybe with my old 944. If not that, then try 24 hours of LeMons. Cool run, cool vid!

He scott, it really depends. the cheapest you can go is probably a Hona Civic with lots of cheap parts and availability, cheap cars, and cheap run cost (blast to drive) maybe 8k after you buy the car, get the parts (if its not SCCA legal) and get your gear, and finish your school My Formula Vee is about as cheap as you can go for teh speed open wheel, REAL racecar, for about the same price as a honda

Yeah, It was a good weekend, but just a bit nippy!
You should not have to clear frost off the windshield of a race car unless the tires you are running have spikes in them, and the event is being held somewhere north of the arctic circle......
