Fans at Kawartha Downs are very familiar with the name Winacott thanks to the well-documented success of trainer Mark Winacott.
Tuesdays tenth race, however, saw another Winacott grab the spotlight as Chad Winacott picked up his first lifetime driving victory. He did so with the hard-hitting veteran Son Of The King.
Winacott rolled the 11-year-old son of Kingsbridge to immediate command from Post 2 and proceeded to lay down splits of :28.4, :59.4 and 1:29 with the gelding who used a :30-second final quarter to post the 1:59 score over Sugarsnax and Allegedly So.
The elder Winacott conditions the photogenic pacer for owner Paul Sarginson of Trenton, ON.
Please join Standardbred Canada and the staff at Kawartha Downs in offering congratulations to Chad Winacott on the maiden-breaking victory.
I never knew Chad got into racing?! congrats!
