my uncle have a toyota land cruiser since 1980 and work perfect yet and he live on the mountains and drive in very hard ways inaccessible for other cars and his car is grate toyota is the best for me because he load his car with a lot cofee sacks and don't care toyota is grate latin america is toyota territory

@supercars01 Not true... don't generalize like that... the only trucks I would ever drive are V6s and smaller, don't need that much power on the trails ;)

Toyota stopped selling the Hilux in the states because Toyota was unable to compete with GM and Ford. They then shifted to the larger (at the time) Tacoma.
Since then Toyota has been a much improved company and are now #1 in the world, though marginally in terms of market-share. Since Tacoma has been well received by the American market they have not changed it. Introducing the Hilux would only steal from Tacoma sales. It is more cost efficient to just keep it Tacoma only.
