@Its0mar Your focusing on the result and not on the cause. Even if America did manage their guns better they would get them else where. Criminals will always get their hands on weapons, the main problem is that they have so much money they can buy anything they want.

It's a shifting problem which has never gone away so no I am not surprised, no one cares. There really isn't any finite solution either, so people take the, "glad it's not my country" approach.

@nixrate I'm just saying if the U.S. cared alittle more about what their guns are allowing the cartel to do, the death toll wouldnt be at over 50,000. It's a sad situation really. The fraction of non American guns is literally like 5% of all the guns confiscated and destroyed.. 50,000 people! more deaths than the "Wars on terror".. can you believe this is happening and no one cares??

@Its0mar Everyone is quick to point the finger at the US but lets face it, money is the ultimate key here. If America did shut down every gun going directly into Mexico they would just come from other Latin American states, or from Europe, Russia etc.

The police, cartels, and their government are all neatly tied together. Money=better life and the war on drugs is only getting worse. The US's heavy appetite for narcotics will continue to be a problem until some of this shit is legalized...remember back in the late 20's and 30's when Heroin was in cough syrups sold over the counter? More problems happen from booze and cigarettes and we keep on opening liquor stores and pumping out cartons of cancer sticks like its cool..
